In 1925 the property that our hotel calls home today was the perfect picture of Tennessee living, family values, community and hospitality. Dr. John W. Ogle was a Sevier County doctor that often traveled to the homes of his patients on horseback as well as a loyal servant to the area’s residents. His wife, Blanche Ogle, was a dedicated wife and mother that also loved to share time on the farm with family, friends and members of the community. Regardless of the number of people that were planning to sit around Blanche’s table at supper time, there was still always a seat available for anyone that wanted to join. The Ogle’s not only had a great love for their family, neighbors and the Tennessee Walking Horses that were bred on their farm but also for serving others in their beautiful Smoky Mountain home. Seven generations later, their farm looks quite different, but it’s still in the hands of their family. A family that strives to carry on their legacy of hosting, friendliness, love and service. During your time with us at The Lodge at Five Oaks, we want you to experience the type of hospitality that would make Dr. John and Blanche proud if they were sitting around the dinner table with us on the night of your stay. You’ll receive a delicious and free complimentary breakfast when staying with us, but to get the real 1920’s Five Oaks Farm experience, you’ll want to have at least one meal at the Five Oaks Farm Kitchen. Here are a few reasons why you don’t want to miss the down home experience that they offer every guest!
The Lodge at Five Oaks was created to reflect life on the Five Oaks Farm that was once located on our property. Our owners spent many days as children on the farm and years of fond memories of the simpler times in the Smoky Mountains. Life has certainly changed since then but the love for family, adventure and fun remain the same. When you visit with us, we want everyone in the family to leave with wonderful memories and a desire to return again. We have put together just a few of the things that kids love about our Sevierville hotel to give you an idea of the fun that is waiting for you in the Smokies!
A Tennessee summer is filled with beauty and fun, but if we’re honest we’ll also say that it’s hot and it’s humid. The higher elevations of the Smoky Mountains offer cooler temperatures throughout the summer months and you’ll find plenty of attractions throughout the area that include water and AC. However, nothing compares to a day packed for fun in the sun at Dollywood’s Splash Country! Here are just a few of the top reasons that you’ll want to add a visit to Tennessee’s most loved waterpark to your Smokies itinerary!
