You may be wondering why we have family photographs displayed in our lobby and well, it’s quite simple, our hotel was built on a strong foundation of family values that began with our owners grandparents. Dr. John W. Ogle and his devoted wife Blanche purchased the land where our hotel sits today back in the 1920’s. They named their family farm Five Oaks Farm and when Dr. Ogle wasn’t riding the hills to care for his patients, he was at home on the farm with his family and often welcomed friends and from time to time a weary traveler that was passing through. Since the farm first became home to the Ogle family they have lived on the land, worked on it, and have kept it in the family for the past 100 years. Today the family has shifted the function of the property to pay tribute to their family history as well as life in the Great Smoky Mountains. When your family arrives at The Lodge Five Oaks you step in our door as friends but when you leave, you leave as our family.
