In 1925 the property that our hotel calls home today was the perfect picture of Tennessee living, family values, community and hospitality. Dr. John W. Ogle was a Sevier County doctor that often traveled to the homes of his patients on horseback as well as a loyal servant to the area’s residents. His wife, Blanche Ogle, was a dedicated wife and mother that also loved to share time on the farm with family, friends and members of the community. Regardless of the number of people that were planning to sit around Blanche’s table at supper time, there was still always a seat available for anyone that wanted to join. The Ogle’s not only had a great love for their family, neighbors and the Tennessee Walking Horses that were bred on their farm but also for serving others in their beautiful Smoky Mountain home. Seven generations later, their farm looks quite different, but it’s still in the hands of their family. A family that strives to carry on their legacy of hosting, friendliness, love and service. During your time with us at The Lodge at Five Oaks, we want you to experience the type of hospitality that would make Dr. John and Blanche proud if they were sitting around the dinner table with us on the night of your stay. You’ll receive a delicious and free complimentary breakfast when staying with us, but to get the real 1920’s Five Oaks Farm experience, you’ll want to have at least one meal at the Five Oaks Farm Kitchen. Here are a few reasons why you don’t want to miss the down home experience that they offer every guest!
