3. Our History
For the past 100 years the land that our hotel sits on has been welcoming both locals and travelers. It started with the purchase of the property by our owners’ grandparents, Dr. John W. Ogle and his wife Blanche. They began the Five Oaks Farm decades ago and though the use of the property is different today — the love, family values and southern hospitality remain the same. You’ll find pieces of their story, including family photographs throughout our hotel as well as next door at the Ogle Brothers General Store and Five Oaks Farm Kitchen. You can also head up the hill behind the hotel and experience a horseback ride around the property that offers up a taste of yesteryear and stunning views of the Smoky Mountains. Our ultimate goal is to provide a very authentic and home like experience to each of our guests as a way to carry on the legacy of Dr. Ogle and his loving wife Blanche.
